CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Things to bring: A sharp pair of scissors

In this class, you will learn how to make a 4-cord braided rug made with alpaca rug yarn. You can make a round or oval rug, and if you’re daring, work on a square rug! (Colors available will differ from sample picture)

Most people understand the process after a couple of hours, but our class lasts 3 hours to confirm everyone understands the concept. Some complete their rug during this time.

Class fee includes instruction and locally raised and processed alpaca wool rug yarn from Firwood Farm Alpacas & Rescue.*

  • Instructor: Deb Hobbs of Cloud Nine Fibers in Quilcene, WA. Deb is a certified sorter and processes fleeces from raw fiber to batts, cloud, roving and rug yarns.

  • Rug yarn supplier: Leanna Stidham of Firwood Farm Alpacas & Rescue, in Fife, WA, will have class rug yarn for sale and additional rug yarn available should you want to explore making braided rugs on your own.

  • Host: Jen Reeves, with A Little Knitty yarn shop in Milton, WA, is providing classroom space.  Thank you Jen!
